As the official representation of Switzerland, the Embassy covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. It represents Swiss interests in the areas of political, economic, financial and legal affairs, as well as science, education and culture.

The tasks of the embassy

 

Special Flight Lima - Zurich 02.07.2020

Seats are still available on the Lima-Zurich flight organised by the Swiss Embassy with Edelweiss Air.

Interested parties should register by sending their details (surname, first name, date of birth, e-mail address, telephone number, option Economy or Business Class) to lima@eda.admin.ch.

After your registration you will be sent instructions for purchase.

This flight is ONLY for Swiss or European citizens, as well as persons with a residence permit in Switzerland or another country of the European Union.

The Swiss Embassy in Peru is closely monitoring the development of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19). In order to contain its spread, the Peruvian government has declared a state of emergency and decreed compulsory isolation for the entire country from 16 March till further notice. The state of emergency has been extended until further notice.

Embassy Services 

The embassy continues to operate, but communications are via email lima@eda.admin.ch or by phone +51 264 03 05. There is no service to the public at the moment (only for emergencies). 

In case of a consular emergency, a personal appointment can be made at the counter (agreed in advance by e-mail or telephone). 

  • Schengen and national visa applications (residence permits, family reunification) : 

No applications for Schengen or national visas will be accepted before 15 June 2020. 

  • Applications for marriage preparation in Switzerland :

No appointments for wedding preparation will be made until further notice. 

  • Life certificates :

Due to the current situation, mail delays and difficulties in contacting the competent authorities, the Swiss Compensation Fund in Geneva (SAK/CSC/CSC) accepts the sending of temporary life certificates by e-mail to the following address: sedmaster@zas.admin.ch. These can be confirmed by the participants by means of their signature (no official stamp).

The Embassy recommends that the Swiss community in Peru follow the guidelines and recommendations of the local authorities for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

Warning: False information about the Swiss pension system are circulating on the web!

The Swiss representation abroad officially denies the information circulating on certain websites about alleged beneficial pensions that Latin American citizens could obtain in Switzerland. This false publicity refers to a so-called clause in the Swiss Constitution that would allow foreigners to access to high pensions. Please ignore this erroneous information that has no truthfulness. We recommend that you are being cautious about sharing your personal data with third parties.
