Swiss Academic Presence in Singapore

Currently there are four Swiss academic institutions present in Singapore. The first was the Singapore-ETH Centre established in 2010 as a collaboration between the National Research Foundation of Singapore and ETH Zürich. It has three major research programmes, the Future Cities Laboratory, Future Resilient Systems and Future Health Technologies. In 2012 the University of St.Gallen opened its St.Gallen Institute of Management in Asia (SGI), which is offering Asia-related academic activities for students and executives. In 2015 the Institute for Management Development (IMD) South East Asia opened its Executive Learning Center (ELC) in Singapore, which is the representation of the independent academic institution with Swiss roots IMD. The youngest addition is the Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL) Group, which opened their first overseas campus in Singapore. They offer a bachelor program in International Hospitality Management, with students beginning their studies with a preparatory year in Lausanne followed by three years of study in Singapore.
