Partnerships and mandates

The SDC has been committed to supporting and protecting civilians affected by the conflict in Darfur, funding programmes by the WFP, UNHCR, ICRC, OCHA, UNICEF and various NGOs (MSF-Switzerland, Terre des Hommes–Lausanne).

Swiss experts have been regularly deployed (Seconded) to strengthen UN-organisation capacities.

Multilateral organisations

The potential to use and incorporate the knowledge and capital of multilateral organisations into development cooperation.

NGOs

Cooperation with NGOs that have a track-record in performance, competence and knowledge, their own financial base and are well-established in society.

Research institutes

Research and innovation as key factors for sustainable economic, social and environmental development and solving global problems.

State institutions

Using and incorporating the knowledge of federal agencies, cantons and communes; engaging in political dialogue with governments with a view to achieving reforms or better economic and social conditions.

Mandates and contributions

Alongside the guidelines for the awarding of mandates and contributions, the FDFA provides information on planned and awarded mandates and criteria for contributions to NGO programmes.
