Appui à la Fédération Nationale des Communes Tunisiennes et mise en place du Fonds Municipal de Compétence Générale

Le projet vise à appuyer le processus de décentralisation en Tunisie en renforçant le rôle de la Fédération Nationale des Communes Tunisiennes (FNCT) en tant qu’acteur de soutien aux communes et de plaidoyer politique pour la décentralisation. Dans le cadre de ce projet, la FNCT va appuyer techniquement et financièrement 17 communes pilotes dans la mise en œuvre de leurs plans de développement locaux. Il s’agit d’une contribution à un projet financé par l’Union Européenne.

Nonviolent Peaceforce: Community-based Protection and Peacebuilding

The project will contribute to overall peace and security of targeted communities by addressing key civilian safety and security concerns, including child protection, intra-inter-communal violence, SGBV, women’s protection and empowerment, youth participation, community participation and general protection and peacebuilding. Interventions will focus on trust building and inclusion, enhancing capacities of existing community-based protection mechanisms including Women protection Teams and Youth Protection Teams, and Peace Committees, and restoring confidence in peaceful relations at community levels.


Sri Lanka: Skills for Sustainable Growth

The current crisis in Sri Lanka is strongly affecting the country’s population. Switzerland and Sri Lanka have a migration partnership. Therefore, Switzerland has a strong interest in supporting skills development in the country. This project will train the Sri Lankan Vocational Training Authority to deliver an international standard curriculum in the hospitality sector to its students, combined with practical learning in hotels. Hence, the students will have better access to employment opportunities.

WFP: Food assistance in Cauca. Strengthening food sovereignty and autonomy of the Nasa people

Due to the protracted armed conflict, many indigenous communities in the department of Cauca remain in a situation of vulnerability and food security crisis. The situation has worsened by internal challenges to consolidate peace, as well as by the impact of climate change, the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and, more recently, the effects of the Ukraine crisis.

In this scenario, SDC will support WFP with additional resources to complement its early recovery actions in favor of vulnerable communities, under the principle of saving lives, fostering recovery processes and strengthening their livelihoods, thus improving the food security of communities.

Support to WFP under the Grain from Ukraine Initiative

Through the present contribution Switzerland will support the “Grain from Ukraine Initiative” (GfUI). The initiative was launched by the Government of Ukraine (GoU) in November 2022 in close collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP). Aim of the initiative is to facilitate the delivery by the GoU of 125,000 tons of grain to nations facing widespread food insecurity.

Empowering the Youth to Embrace the Digital Economy and Digital Entrepreneurship

The project aims at empowering young people, especially women, with digital entrepreneurship skills, tools and an enabling environment to increase their employment opportunities and to improve the competitiveness and resilience of youth-led business. It comprises a large-scale digital skills and entrepreneurship training program, business advisory support for youth-led enterprises and the development of innovative solutions for start-ups.


Citizen Engagement for Good Governance, Accountability & the Rule of Law – CEGGA II

This last phase of the “Citizen Engagement for Good Governance, Accountability & the Rule of Law” project will provide more opportunities for local communities and civil society organizations to engage in the country’s socio-economic development, and to collaborate with the legislature in bringing citizen’s voice and concerns to the local and national executive authorities. Switzerland longstanding experiences in the country are key advantages to work on the rule of law and good governance issues.

The exit phase of the contribution to the CATIE project will improve the food security and resilience to climate change of at least 6,000 people living in Nicaragua's dry corridor through the consolidation of rainwater harvesting as a measure of adaptation and its scaling up to other sectors.

WASH Material for Cholera Response in Haiti and Syria

There are current outbreaks of Cholera in Haiti and Syria. Partners have requested emergency WASH material which includes water disinfection and distribution kits, pumps, and bacteriological testing kits which can indicate the presence of faecal matter in drinking water. This project finances the replacement of WASH emergency material that will be taken from the SET stock of SDC and sent to Haiti and Syria.


Visions Sud Est 2022 - 2026

Filmmakers and artists at large contribute to the reflection of relevant issues, initiating debates on societal issues and therefore shaping the future of our society. The fund Visions Sud Est (VSE) supports film production in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. It is a partnership between SDC, major film festivals and a film distributor in Switzerland. VSE is a contribution for filmmakers from the South&East to make their voices heard and to ensure the diversity of artistic expression internationally.
