Un’opportunità per tutti i burkinabé di ricevere un’istruzione di base

In Burkina Faso, un terzo dei bambini in età scolastica, vale a dire circa un milione di ragazze e ragazzi, non hanno accesso all’istruzione e il 70 per cento degli adulti è analfabeta. Per queste persone devono essere sviluppati moduli d’istruzione alternativa. Dal 2006, grazie al sostegno della DSC all’istruzione di base, oltre un milione di burkinabè dai 15 anni in su hanno imparato a leggere e scrivere.

Bangladesh Climate Change Resilience Fund (BCCRF) – Contribution

The Bangladesh Climate Change Resilience Fund was set up by bilateral development partners in 2010 to support Bangladesh address climate change adaptation and mitigation. The fund is currently endowed with USD 170 million from the UK, EU, USA, Australia, Sweden, Denmark and Switzerland and administrated by the World Bank. A planned replenishment, to which Switzerland will contribute with the present proposal, will increase the level of funding of this innovative mechanism to USD 274 million by mid-2013.

Rights and Resources Initiative - Phase III

The Rights and Resources Group (RRG) is the formal coordination mechanism of the Rights and Resources Initiative (RRI). It is a multidonor initiative that supports forest tenure and user rights reforms in developing countries with particular focus on those countries that have committed to mitigate greenhouse gases through REDD+. It addresses the forest carbon issues from a co-benefit perspective including poverty reduction, climate protection and sustainable resources use.

Revue Internationale de Politique de Développement

L’appui de la DDC à la Revue a pour but de consolider l’existence de la seule revue internationale faite en Suisse et consacrée à la coopération internationale. La Revue a deux parents : la DDC et l’Institut des Hautes Etudes Internationales et du Développement à Genève. Cette revue est une plateforme multi-usage pour la DDC. Le but du financement est l’utilisation de la Revue comme une ressource externe pour la réflexion et la communication sur la mise en œuvre de la stratégie de coopération internationale de la Suisse.

Programme de développement rural de Wadi Fira (PDR-WF)

Dans une région sahélienne soumise aux aléas climatiques, ce programme concourt à répondre aux aspirations socio-économiques et culturelles des communautés rurales engagées dans la recherche de l’autosuffisance alimentaire et d’un meilleur accès à des services sociaux de base de qualité (éducation et santé). Cette phase 5 sera la dernière pha-se d’appui direct de la DDC au programme de l’ONG. Celle-ci pourra briguer des mandats au même titre que d’autres ONG tchadiennes dans le cadre des nouveaux programmes développés par la DDC au Tchad.

UNDP: Strengthening of the democratic process in Egypt

The UNDP programme has a double focus on (1) enhancing electoral procedures, in particular the establishment of an independent electoral management body (2) strengthening the capacity of young and female rural voters to exercise their right to vote. It has won the trust of Egyptian authorities and complements Switzerland’s previous support for election observation which found that – although results were consistent with voters’ intentions – further process improvements were required.

Support to UNRWA institutional and operational reforms (Education)

SDC support to UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for the Palestine Refugees in the Near East) in the occupied Palestinian territory will enable the organization to further implement its mandate and its reforms agenda. The intervention focuses on the delivery of enhanced education services - which include primary education, skills development and professional training services – for the benefit of over 270,000 pupils attending UNRWA’s schools and technical vocational education and training centers.

Strengthening Peace building and Recovery Results for Children and Women - UNICEF

This project seeks the improvement of children and women protection in humanitarian as well as post conflict contexts. It aims to do so by reinforcing the capacities of UNICEF in the field of Disaster and Risk Reduction (DRR), post conflict rehabilitation and peace building including in fragile context. UNICEF is active before, during and after crises. Its double humanitarian and development mandate as well as its operational capacities make it an important partner in humanitarian context and within the frame of transition between humanitarian and rehabilitation stages.

Nel 2010, il Pakistan è stato colpito da terribili alluvioni. Dopo aver apportato soccorsi di emergenza alla popolazione, l’Aiuto umanitario svizzero ha intrapreso la ricostruzione di scuole e strutture igienico-sanitarie. Nel primo caso, gli interventi hanno permesso a migliaia di alunni e alunne di tornare a scuola. In molti casi è stato necessario ricostruire su nuovi terreni. Questo esigeva un vero e proprio rapporto di fiducia tra le comunità locali e le autorità.

Flood Management and Mitigation Programme

Flood risks in the Lower Mekong Basin (LMB) are increasing as a result of infrastructure development, land-use changes, increasing population and in the longer term by the effects of climate change. The Regional Flood Management and Mitigation Center (RFMMC) created by the Mekong River Commission (MRC) has the mandate to coordinate with its Member Countries to reduce the negative impacts of floods. It will support them to improve and implement flood risk management and mitigation practices, like flood forecasting or impact assessment.

Strengthening the Capacity of the Romanian Gendarmerie

The Romanian Gendarmerie will acquire Swiss and EU-knowledge as well as equipment to be better prepared to manage public order during large events. It will also be able to improve public safety in mountain areas where national and international tourism is an important feature. The project is part of the thematic fund security in Romania.
