Community Policing

To better solve today’s security problems, the police needs to increasingly cooperate with other public and private organizations such as NGOs. This pilot project introduces the concept of community policing in four Hungarian cities to lay the foundation of a country-wide implementation. Goal is to improve the security situation by bringing the police closer to the population.

RELIEF (Mechanoscopic analysis in the area of drug crime)

The goal of the project is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the fight against international drug trafficking through improving the currently used system of detection of mechanoscopic traces on the surface of compressed drug shipments and through starting a database which could be included into the already existing European Drug Profiling System (EDPS) and the Europol Synthetic Drugs Database (ESDDS).

Le Pérou et le Chili, comme beaucoup d’autres pays émergeants, cherchent à réduire leurs émissions de gaz à effet de serre sans compromettre leur développement économique, tout en s’adaptant aux effets du changement climatique. Le projet vise à partager avec ces pays l’expérience très positive faite dans ce sens en Afrique du Sud : génération d’une base scientifique solide pour produire des options et scénarios à long terme et négocier entre partenaires économiques et sociaux des plans de développement à bas niveau de carbone.

Programme d’appui à la valorisation des produits forestiers non ligneux

Au Burkina Faso, des chocs climatiques récurrents, tels qu’inondations ou sécheresses, engendre des déficits alimentaires pour une frange importante de la population rurale. Dans ce contexte, l’utilisation des produits forestiers non ligneux (PFNL) présente plusieurs atouts: accessibles, ils améliorent la qualité de l’alimentation et procurent des revenus supplémentaires pour les femmes. La DDC soutient la valorisation des PFNL, en partenariat avec l’Organisation des Nations unies pour l’alimentation et l’agriculture (FAO).

L’accompagnamento e il reinserimento di migranti ancora minorenni richiede un’azione coordinata a livello regionale. Dal 2012 i quindici Paesi membri della Comunità economica degli Stati dell’Africa occidentale collaborano all’interno di una rete che permette di garantire un’assistenza transnazionale a questa fascia vulnerabile della popolazione. La DSC sostiene questa rete regionale dal 2010.

Increased Public Security through countering organized crime and terrorism

The goal of the project is to protect the public against terrorism and all forms of organized crime. The rapid response unit of the Czech Police will be trained and equipped and a training facility will be modernized.

Alcohol, Tobacco and other psychoactive Substances Prevention by women in the reproductive age

The Programme is focused on the reduction of the use of tobacco, alcohol and other psychoactive substances by women in the reproductive age and pregnant women. Apart from this main target group, it will target partners of pregnant women, students and teachers of upper secondary schools, medical personnel having direct contact with the main target group, and also the general public. The main programme’s activities are: trainings for medical personnel, educational programme at workplaces and secondary schools, information and awareness raising campaign.

Half of the billion people affected by undernourishment worldwide earn their primary living from smallholder agriculture. The productivity of these farmers remains very low. A major issue in this context is the lack of access to technical and market information, and to financial services. Providing access to rural advisory and financial services through mobile phones – a highly promising medium to reach millions in remote areas – has a high potential to improve smallholders’ productivity, stabilise their incomes, thus contributing to increased food security.

Harmony Home Vsetin

The project aims at providing a dignified environment for seniors in the “Home for seniors Ohrada” by reconstructing 17 rooms, common spaces and common sanitary facilities and by establishing 12 additional rooms. While qualified social workers will introduce modern methods of individualized work with residents, the capacity of the home will be increased by 10 places. A wide range of social activities will be offered to residents and the local community, which will further increase the quality of social services provided.
