Any person entering the Republic of Armenia can either provide a negative COVID-19 PCR-test result upon arrival (not older than 72 hours) or do a test upon arrival with quarantine until the result is known. Click here for more information.
On January 27th, 2021 the Federal Council of Switzerland issued new entry regulations. The following changes will come into effect on February 8, 2021:
- All persons traveling to Switzerland by plane must present valid proof of a negative PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old. The check about the negative PCR Test takes place before boarding the aircraft. Furthermore travelers from states and areas (List of countries and areas) with an increased risk of infection must in addition go into a 10-day quarantine.
- The quarantine can be shortened from the 7th day on by order of the cantonal authorities and after a negative test result.
- All people entering Switzerland are obliged to provide their contact details. This does not apply to people who travel to Switzerland in their private car from countries and areas without an increased risk of infection.

Foreign citizens can leave the country only through aerial way. According to the current situation the following airlines are operating:
Belavia airlines operates regular daily flights to Yerevan and offers flights to several European destination, such as Amsterdam, Paris, Münich, etc. Please find more information on the dates of the flights on their website en.belavia.by
Air France operates Yerevan – Paris flights. Tickets are available on the website of Air France or through Saberatours! www.airfrance.am
Austrian Airlines operates Yerevan - Vienna flights.
Ukrainian Airlines has resumed flights between Yerevan and Kiev
for the period 12.01.2021 - 19.01.2021.
Qatar Airways operates daily flights to Yerevan.
Regular bilateral air traffic between Armenia & Russia will resume on February 1. Aeroflot Airlines offers weekly flights, tickets are available online www.aeroflot.ru . Travelers need to downloads the app "Traveling without covid19", get tested in a lab indicated on the app & submit the negative response within 72 hours before departure.
The Embassy will do its utmost to keep an updated list of operational airlines but you are also advised to double-check with other sources as well since the situation is continuously evolving.
*Due to the ongoing conflict, the Government of Armenia has declared a martial law on September 27, 2020.
*As of July 6th 2020 Swiss citizens who go on holiday to a number of countries including Armenia, will have to quarantine themselves for ten days on their return to Switzerland. These countries are on the list of all areas deemed to be at risk of Covid-19 infection published by the FDFA. Furthermore, since October 29th 2020 Switzerland has a mandatory country-wide mask-wearing policy in all closed public spaces, some outdoor public places and introduced further rules and restrictions to combat the spread of the pandemic. *Travelers must keep in mind their personal responsibility according to the Swiss Abroad Act (Auslandschweizergesetz ASG), as well as the fact that they have to accept alternative, cumbersome travel routes and have to bear the corresponding costs.
