Progetto concluso

Continuing clashes between Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the March 23 Movement (M23) in North Kivu Province in eastern DRC is causing immense human suffering. Further military confrontations will have heavy consequences for civilians. Humanitarian agencies continue to provide aid in areas where they have access.

Contesto

The humanitarian situation in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is one of the world’s most complex and long-standing. This is due to continuing armed conflict and general insecurity.

Obiettivi

The goal of RRMP is to deliver an integrated assistance to acutely vulnerable populations affected by displacement, return and/or natural disasters.

Gruppi target

  • Internally displaced and returning populations
  • Vulnerable groups in conflict areas
  • Vulnerable host populations living in areas affected by population movements
  • Effetti a medio termine

  • Provide initial needs assessments 48h after the crisis
  • Distribute essential household relief supplies (Non Food Items) and emergency shelter materials to the most affected population
  • Provide sufficient safe drinking water and adequate sanitation facilities and ensure an effective response to epidemic diseases
  • Facilitate access to basic primary education
  • Contribute to improve protection of the affected populations
