Building Energy Efficiency
The overall objective of the project is to reduce energy consumption in new buildings in India by 30-40% by the year 2020. The specific objective is to build capacities and knowledge of builders, architects, engineers, labs, institutions and others, in the area of building energy efficiency in India by utilizing Swiss experience and expertise, and by following a multi-stakeholders cooperation process. The project has four components: (1) Integrated Design Process (IDP) Charrettes and IDP Seminars; (2) Technical assistance in developing building material testing infrastructure for implementation of the Energy Conservation Building Codes (ECBC); (3) Developing design guidelines and tools for the design of energyefficient residential buildings; (4) Knowledge management.
