Switzerland's position on the agenda for sustainable development is now available to the public. The position was approved on 25 June 2014 by the Federal Council as part of the decree on Switzerland's priorities for the 69th session of the UN General Assembly. It is based on the Federal Council's position of June 2013, and has been updated since the beginning of the year in line with the national and international debates. As part of the overall process to elaborate the position since the autumn of 2012, broad-based consultations have been carried out at the national level, taking due account of suggestions from civil society, the private sector, the academic and scientific community, policy makers and political actors. This is Switzerland's official position within the framework of the international discussions on the formulation of the post-2015 agenda for sustainable development.
