Synopsis:

Drawing inspiration from his personal encounter with the Italian refugee child Giovanna during World War II, Markus Imhoof tracks today’s refugees on their dangerous journey to Europe, making his statement on the current refugee crisis in the Mediterranean.

The film celebrated its world premiere at the Berlinale 2018 and has been nominated and has won many awards, e.g.
