Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation - General Information on Embassy measures
Information on Embassy measures linked to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation
Dear fellow citizens,
The Swiss Embassy in Tehran remains open during the current COVID-19 pandemic and will serve its citizens adapted to the current conditions and in line with measures taken by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Consequently, due to the current coronavirus situation and in order to respect the “physical distance” and the “stay at home” injunctions, operations demanding a direct close contact at the Embassy consular counters will only be available for Swiss citizens and in cases of emergency.
Please be also informed that due to the current situation, the Swiss government has decided to stop the issuance of Schengen visa and national visa until further notice. Therefore the visa section will remain closed for the time being.
Should you have any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Embassy Sunday to Thursday from 9am until 3.30pm (+98 21 2200 8333). Outside of these hours, in case of emergency, Swiss citizens can call the FDFA helpline +41 800 24-7-365 / +41 58 465 33 33 (not for visas).
We remain here for you and stay safe.
Swiss travelers (tourists) or persons residing in Switzerland which are currently in Iran are requested to organize their return to Switzerland independently. For this, we recommend that you contact your travel agency or transport company.
Informative and without any obligation, please find the list of travel agencies with whom this Embassy cooperates in the domain of visas. Reservations can also be performed via a travel agency in Switzerland or through the internet.
We understand and share your concerns and therefore urge you to take all the necessary steps to return to Switzerland.
