Swiss Ambassador attends signing of energy efficiency contract in Vrbas

The Ambassador of Switzerland in Serbia, Mr. Urs Schmid, on 26 July 2021 visited the municipality of Vrbas to attend the signing ceremony between the Ministry of Mining and Energy, represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, Mrs. Zorana Mihajlovic, and the selected contractor, Morava In, that will perform energy efficiency rehabilitation of one school and four kindergartens in that municipality. This contract, worth 1,4 million EUR, is funded by Switzerland through the Municipal Energy Efficiency and Management Project and will contribute to a significant reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions while increasing the comfort for children and education professionals.


Ambassador Urs Schmid visits Nestlé Factory Surcin

Swiss company “Standard Furniture” supporting dual education in Serbia

The visit was a good opportunity to get to know this company and to discuss its future involvement in dual education in Serbia. Ambassador Urs Schmid attends Award Ceremony in Kraljevo for Boosting Energy Efficiency

On Friday, 25th June 2021, Ambassador Urs Schmid attended the ceremony of awarding contracts to 67 local governments across Serbia for the financing of energy efficiency measures in residential buildings. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Mining and Energy, Mrs. Zorana Mihajlovic, handed out the agreements, while underlining the great interest of municipalities to participate in this project, supported by Switzerland.




Fostering sustainable Swiss-Serbian economic ties

A new round of political consultations between Switzerland and Montenegro

On June 18, Switzerland and Montenegro held their third round of political consultations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Podgorica. The Swiss delegation was led by Ambassador Anna Ifkovits Horner, Assistant State Secretary and Head of the Eurasia Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), whereas the Montenegrin delegation was headed by Ambassador Ljubomir Mišurović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Swiss Ambassador Urs Schmid met with Vice Mayor of the city of Belgrade, Mr. Goran Vesic, at the Belgrade City Hall. The meeting provided an excellent opportunity to inform the Vice Mayor and his staff on the 30 years anniversary of Swiss Serbian Cooperation. What had started with humanitarian aid in the year 1991, has developed over the years into a comprehensive bilateral cooperation, covering a wide range of topics, from dual education, digitalization of public administration to projects aiming at foster sustainable economic growth.

Ambassador Anna Ifkovits Horner, Assistant State Secretary and Head of the Eurasia Division at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA), led the Swiss delegation, while Ambassador Vladimir Maric, Acting Assistant Minister for Bilateral Cooperation led the Serbian delegation.
