Support of the energy transition plan for municipalities

The program 'Alliance of Municipalities for Energy Transition' (ACTE) aims to support municipalities in the energy transition by providing them with original technical and financial solutions adapted to the local context. SECO will support the implementation of the ACTE program while introducing the ACTE/MENA Energy Award label (ACTE/MEA).

Multi-Country Investment Climate Program

Tunisia Public Financial Managment and Local Governments (Phase II)

This Program aims to strengthen Tunisia’s public financial management (PFM) for improved efficiency and transparency at national and subnational levels. It includes in particular a series of activities aimed at strengthening the capacity of the most disadvantaged municipalities.

Water sanitation in 10 medium-sized cities

This program includes the construction and expansion of existing sewerage systems and the construction of waste water treatment plants (WWTP) in medium-sized cities in Tunisia. It is planned to dedicate the Swiss financing for the construction of the WWTP in Tajérouine, for complementary measures and for the implementation consultant.

World Bank Capital Markets Strenghtening Facility

The Capital Markets Strengthening Facility is an innovative cross-cutting initiative with the overall objective to develop stable and resilient capital markets and to facilitate long-term local currency financing for sectors critical for economic growth and poverty reduction. Sanad Fund

The Sanad Fund is an investment vehicle, that provides debt and equity financing to banks and microfinance institutions. The ultimate beneficiaries are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises. The Middle East and North African region is the main target region of the Sanad Fund.

En Tunisie, un projet de la DDC permet à des jeunes en recherche d’emploi d’acquérir les compétences techniques et sociales requises par le monde du travail.

Transition redevable pour la société tunisienne (TRUST)

L’intervention contribue à l’émergence d’un système de redevabilité durable, veillant au respect de l’Etat de droit, favorisant la réactivité, l’efficacité et la confiance des citoyennes et des citoyens dans les institutions publiques. Elle soutient de manière ciblée les capacités de partenaires publics et de la société civile à exercer leurs rôles dans la régulation, la surveillance et le contrôle de l’activité publique par une approche transversale et complémentaire aux soutiens existants.

Redevabilité, sécurité et prévention de l’extrémisme violent pour les citoyennes et citoyens tunisiens RESPECT

L’intervention renforce la gouvernance du secteur de sécurité tunisien et les capacités institutionnelles de prévention de l’extrémisme violent. Elle contribue ainsi à une meilleure protection des citoyennes et des citoyens tunisiens à travers une assistance vers une gestion de la sécurité redevable et efficace, et à travers un soutien à la définition et à la mise en œuvre de politiques publiques limitant le phénomène de l’extrémisme violent.


Allocation of SDC Funding to ICRC Operations in 2019

In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of predictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to ICRC operations allows the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) to respond proactively and to provide immediate protection and assistance for people affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

North Africa Cultural Programme (NACP), Phase 1

By developing a Regional Cultural Programme, Switzerland seeks to facilitate intercultural dialogue and exchange as a foundation for peace and conflict sensitive development in North Africa and to foster artistic expression as a driver of change in support to the challenges of transition. This will promote peaceful coexistence, political stability and social cohesion in North Africa, hence providing a contribution to the prevention of violent extremism and alternatives for the fulfillment of North African youth in their own societies.

Program for the Support of Electoral Processes in Tunisia (PSPET) – Phase II

The program contributes to outcome 1.2 of the SDC’s 2017-2020 strategy. This intermediary phase of the program would contribute to leverage the resilience of independent electoral authorities for the successful organization of the 2019 national elections and beyond and strengthen citizen engagement in decision making through effective outreach and civic education. It would also permit for a closer assessment of the field to prepare for the phasing out of the program moving forward.
