Quality Assurance (QA) and Internal Digitalisation

The Specialist service Quality Assurance (QA) and Internal Digitalisation is responsible for monitoring and refining instruments for impact-oriented project and programme cycle management and for digital transformation at the SDC. The unit supports the SDC's senior management with refining and monitoring the impact-oriented management system and helps organisational units with implementation and quality assurance. 

Quality assurance

With regard to quality assurance, the specialist service focuses on the methodological and financial aspects of impact-oriented project and programme cycle management. It manages processes, guidelines and tools of the SDC within these areas.

To achieve its goals, the specialist service

  • promotes learning and exchange within an internal network of experts,
  • offers training courses,
  • supports employees and management with concrete issues, and
  • maintains contacts with experts from academia and in the field.

Internal digitalisation

With regard to internal digitalisation, the specialist service promotes an efficient, agile, transparent and data-oriented way of working at the SDC in line with the overarching regulations. It advises the SDC's senior management and coordinates the implementation of the target operating model for the digital transformation of the organisation. To achieve this, the specialist service works closely with stakeholders inside and outside the federal government.

Principles 

The service relies on the following principles to guide its work:

  • The specialist service is geared towards the 2030 Agenda's sustainable development goals and the resultant national and international principles and guidelines.
  • The specialist service promotes an impact-oriented and economical use of the available resources. The specialist service follows a practical approach and promotes the agility of the organisation.
  • It provides its services to all of the SDC and works closely with other divisions and directorates within the Federal Administration, as well as with external partner organisations. The specialist service participates in debates regarding the development of impact-oriented approaches – also in an international context, as part of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development).
