With now 480 employees, the Swiss food production group Nestlé is turning out about 30 000 tons of Nescafé and Nesquik per year in the factory in Szerencs. Considering an export share of 80 percent of the products to 26 countries worldwide, plant manager Jean-Pierre Polanen says the factory is nowadays one of the most important powder-producers for drinks all over Europe.

General director Jean Grunenwald announced that Nestlé will celebrate its 150 years anniversary and Nestlé Hungary its 25 years anniversary in the coming year. Especially with the products from Szerencs the company is doing business in a growing market and therefore further investments are possible. This would also be the wish of Major Ferenc Koncz who would like to have more occasions to inaugurate new investments.

Swiss ambassador Jean-François Paroz added that with about 2000 employees Nestlé is the largest Swiss employer in Hungary. Switzerland is on rank seven of foreign investors in Hungary and therefore an important partner, with traditionally friendly relations to Hungary.
