The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) are active in a total of six priority regions. 

The SDC contributes to alleviating poverty and development problems worldwide. The SDC is responsible for implementing the Federal Council's foreign policy on humanitarian aid, regional and global development cooperation, and cooperation with Eastern Europe.

SECO develops and implements economic and trade policy measures with selected advanced developing and transition countries as well as with the new member states of the EU (enlargement contribution).
