Discover Kyiv through the eyes of the Swiss multi-media artist Catherine Gfeller who portrays Kyiv as a dynamic city in transition. With a mix of videos, audio recordings, texts and slogans, the artist reflects on this gigantic European metropolis. The project is supported by interviews held with Ukrainian interlocutors, such as the famous writers Andriy Kurkov, Oksana Zabuzhko and Irina Tsilyk who share their vision of Kyiv. Also join us for the opening on 23 March, where you will have a chance to meet the artist and to enjoy a fascinating panel discussion entitled “Kyiv – City of Change”. Artists, experts, as well as representatives from the government and civil society will discuss the future of Kyiv as a European city. The event featured Swiss and Ukrainian music and Swiss specialties. Special guests: Swiss musician Liz Schneider and the Ukrainian singer Svyatoslav Vakarchuk/”Okean Elzy”

On 11 June, from 10:00 until 22:00, the annual fair «Francophonie Day» takes place on Kostiolna Street. For the second time, Switzerland participates with a diverse programme, featuring theatre and dance performances, cooking classes and tastings and a children’s programme. The fair is a charity event. Entry is free.

Ukrainian Architecture Festival CANactions is attended by urbanists and architects from Ukraine and other European countries. The architects hold workshops, give lectures, share ideas and experiences and engage in discussions with a wider public and the media. Politicians and investors are offered the opportunity to get acquainted with contemporary trends in international architecture.

Kyiv International Lecture Series
In the framework of the Kyiv International Lectures Series Mr. Eric Martin addressed the important role of the civil society in fighting corruption. Civil society demands integrity, transparency and accountability not only from companies but also from public authorities. He explained how Transparency International acted as a watchdog and reacted to wrongdoing. Rules and regulations were not sufficient to fight corrupt behavior. Laws might be enforced. He explored what could be done to raise awareness of corruption risks and to engage governments in preventing and fighting corruption.
