Fan Ye and Gilbert Impérial studied together in the Hochschule der Künste in Bern and are performing as a duo since 2013, with the objective to propose the music as a way to build bridges between different countries and cultures.
Their repertoire ranges from Europe to China and South America, offering a charming journey through the musical tradition of different countries.
The Swiss guitar player Gilbert Impérial has gained a vast experience as a soloist and collaborated with numerous chamber music groups and orchestras working with important maestros.
He performs regularly in different countries and his concerts have been broadcasted by Italian, Swiss, German and on Vietnamese radios and televisions. He is guitar professor in the Aosta Valley Conservatory of Music, in Italy.
The Swiss educated Chinese guitarist Fan Ye is active in Asia and beyond. He has attended several masterclasses with well-known guitarists, and while in Switzerland, he performed with the Burgdorf Orchesterverein and Berner Symphonieorchester.
Fan Ye is guitar professor at the Yew Chung International school of Shanghai and acts as artistic director of “Shanghai International Guitar Workshop”. He spent six month as Guest Artist in the Shanghai Swatch Art Peace Hotel Residence Program in 2013-2014.
The duo will perform on the 21st of August 2015 in the Wuhan Qin Tai Grand Theater, playing music of Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Piazzolla, Marchelie, De Falla. Other concerts are under organization.
