The Consulate General serves the Southwestern China region, covering the provinces of Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Chongqing Municipality. It focuses on facilitating and enhancing the economic and trade relations between Switzerland and China’s southwestern region, as well as promoting Switzerland’s innovative capacities and tourism.

Due to technical issues, no dial tone can be heard when calling the telephone landlines of the Consulate General of Switzerland in Chengdu. However, you are being connected so do not hang up until your call is answered or an automated message is played. Alternatively, you may contact us by email (chengdu@eda.admin.ch) and we will get back to you as soon as possible

Consular services (issuing of passports, civil status changes, registrations, legalisations, etc.) and visa issues are provided at the embassy in Beijing. For these matters, please always refer to the embassy according to the given contact.

Visa – Entry to and residence in Switzerland

COVID-19

Current situation

On 18 March 2020, the Swiss Federal Council decided, that entry at the Schengen external borders is generally prohibited with few exceptions. Switzerland follows the practice of the other Schengen states. Until 15th June 2020, Switzerland will also no longer issue Schengen visas. National visas will also only be issued in exceptional cases, for example to family members of Swiss citizens with a right of presence in Switzerland who require a visa and to specialists from the health sector.
