Improvisation has always been an essential element of jazz since the music’s early inception. The melodies created spontaneously by jazz players sound new and fresh.

Zurich saxophonist Michael Jaeger’s band KEROUAC has been an established name in Switzerland and its neighboring countries since 2006. The band is characterized with markedly creative and progressive European jazz music. Its music is exciting and Jaeger’s artistic power has inspired a number of jazz enthusiasts to search for new approaches in the modern jazz scene.

From late August to early September, the band, consisting of Vincent Membrez, Luca Sisera, Norbert Pfammatter and Michael Jaeger, will demonstrate their mastery of the music, improvise and perform at four Chinese cities during the Jazz Improvise Meeting Festival. Along with Chinese and other international jazz musicians and bands, they together will explore the new possibilities of the dynamic jazz music.
