In line with the Good Humanitarian Donorship (GHD) principles, Switzerland recognizes the necessity of pre-dictable and flexible funding to respond to changing needs in humanitarian crises. SDC funding to WFP op-erations allows the World Food Programme (WFP) to respond proactively and to provide immediate food assistance in life-threatening situations and underfunded emergencies.

Contexto

The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger and un-der-nutrition. Every year, WFP provides food assis-tance to more than 100 million people, mostly women and children. WFP is Switzerland’s largest United Nations humani-tarian aid multilateral partner.
