Sudan – OCHA / UNDP, Common Humanitarian Fund(CHF) 2015
The CHF is a multi-donor pooled fund, managed under the direction of the Humanitarian Coordinator (HC). The fund finances projects of UN agencies, international and national non-governmental organizations. The CHF is used for timely allocation and disbursement of donor resources to the most urgent humanitarian needs and critical gaps in Sudan. The CHF strengthens the response capacity and fosters at the same time greater sectoral responsibility and accountability – it has an important role in the current situation.

The humanitarian situation in Sudan continues to be of major concern with high degrees of displacement and lack of basic services. Although the humanitarian crisis is mainly caused by conflict and criminality there is also a nationwide problem related to food insecurity and mal-nutrition. |
Obiettivi |
The CHF provides the HC greater ability to target funds at the most critical needs; the CHF strengthens the response capacity, including greater sectoral responsibility and accountability. Main goal of the CHF is to have more predictable and timely funding of operational UN agencies and their NGO implementing partners in undertaking most pressing emergency activities. |

CHF Sudan addresses the highest identified needs according to the Humanitarian Needs Overview and the Humanitarian Response Plan for high priority humani-tarian projects. |

Risultati principali attesi: Provision of life-saving emergency assistance in relevant sectors and based on assessments; accent also on protection and better resilience and where relevant on durable solutions. Risultati fasi precedenti: In 2014 CHF allocated close to USD 54.8 Mio to well focused humanitarian interventions of 9 UN agencies, 27 INGO’s and 22 national NGO’s. |
