Media accreditation

On June 16, US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet in Geneva, Switzerland. Media representatives wishing to access media facilities in order to cover this event from Geneva must be accredited. Registration for accreditation is now closed.

The media centre will open on June 14 at 2pm and close June 17 at noon (CET). Badges can be picked up only upon presentation of vaccination documentation or proof of testing or proof of cured infection as well as the press identification card and valid I.D., at CIGC media centre, 17 rue de Varembé, 1202 Geneva.

Your accreditation badge gives you access to the media centre at CICG as well as the press zone at the lake. It does not give you access to the site where the Geneva Summit is being held on June 16. 

Your badge also gives you access to the live stream by the host broadcaster EBU.

Opening hours media centre for accreditation:

  • Monday 14 June: 14pm – 10pm
  • Tuesday 15 June: 8am – 10pm
  • Wednesday 16 June: 8am – 11pm
  • Thursday 17 June: 8am – 12pm

The media centre is open 24 hours for accredited journalists.


Workstations with electricity and wifi are available in the media centre. The current COVID-19 protective measures apply. Please note: plug type J is standard in Switzerland., plug type C works also. Adapters are not available at the media centre.

If you would like to book facilities at the media centre, including workstations and stand-up spaces, please follow this link. Do ensure that your facility booking requests are completed online.


Coffee, tea and water are available. No food is provided in the media centre.


Masks are mandatory in all buildings. The protective measures as indicated by the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH to prevent the spread of the coronavirus must be respected when staying in Switzerland.

In order to obtain the access badge for media facilities, media representatives will have to present one of the following documents:

  • a proof of complete vaccination for COVID-19
    COVID-19 Vaccines within WHO EUL/PQ evaluation process
  • negative PCR test carried out less than 72 hours before accreditation pick up
  • a proof of a negative antigen test carried out less than 48 hours before pick up
  • a proof of being cured from COVID-19

Otherwise, they will have to undergo a rapid antigen test on site (free of charge). A testing center will be available at the media center. The testing centre is open as follows:

  • Monday 14 June: 2pm – 5pm
  • Tuesday 15 June: 8am – 6pm
  • Wednesday 16 June: 8am – 12pm
