Swiss Maritime Navigation Office

The core responsibilities of the SMNO are statutory supervision and enforcement in the maritime domain. It also has a department of small boats and yachts. It is the registration authority for sea-going yachts and small craft that are used on rivers outside the country and in coastal waters.

The SMNO also acts as the secretariat of the Swiss delegation to the Central Commission for Navigation on the Rhine (CCNR).
