Against the backdrop of an increasingly fragmented international order, the Asian members of the G20 are gaining greater influence on the global stage, both in economic and security policy terms. Switzerland's Foreign Policy Strategy 2024–27 responds to this trend with the aim of enhancing relations with the non-European G20 members and actively helping influence the growing strategic interdependence between Asia and Europe. In this context the existing China Strategy for the period 2021–24 is being updated and extended. The Asia G20 Strategy will in future include the key actors China, India, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea. Switzerland is therefore establishing a solid basis for a differentiated understanding of Asia's regional dynamics.
