Key aspects of diplomatic relations
The Embassy in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) has represented the interests of Switzerland in St Kitts and Nevis since 2007. Since May 2011, all consular matters have been dealt with by the Regional Consular Centre in Santo Domingo.
There are no treaties between Switzerland and St Kitts and Nevis. In the Human Rights Council universal periodic review (UPR) for St Kitts and Nevis, Switzerland recommended an immediate moratorium on the death penalty with a view to its overall abolition.
The two most important economic sectors are tourism and financial services. There is little trade between Switzerland and St Kitts and Nevis, however.

At the end of 2017, there were 18 Swiss nationals living in St Kitts and Nevis.
History of bilateral relations
The two-island state of St Kitts and Nevis in the West Indies (Lesser Antilles) has been independent since 1983 and diplomatic relations with Switzerland have existed since 1992.
