Relations between Switzerland and St Kitts and Nevis are good but limited in scope. The country runs a consulate in Geneva managed by an honorary consul.

Key aspects of diplomatic relations

The Embassy in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic) has represented the interests of Switzerland in St Kitts and Nevis since 2007. Since May 2011, all consular matters have been dealt with by the Regional Consular Centre in Santo Domingo.

There are no treaties between Switzerland and St Kitts and Nevis. In the Human Rights Council universal periodic review (UPR) for St Kitts and Nevis, Switzerland recommended an immediate moratorium on the death penalty with a view to its overall abolition.

Economic cooperation

The two most important economic sectors are tourism and financial services. There is little trade between Switzerland and St Kitts and Nevis, however. 2018 imports amounted to 300’000 CHF and exports were around 2 million CHF.

At the end of 2018, there were 17 Swiss nationals living in St Kitts and Nevis.
